Located approximately 770km north of Adelaide, Moomba is a town operated by Santos as a base for its exploration and processing of gas found in the area. The town was established in the 1960’s following the discovery of oil and gas. The gas is transported to Adelaide via the Moomba to Adelaide Pipeline System, which also has a link to South East Queensland.
